~ Before Beauty and the Beast ~
An erotic Novella by R. L. Weeks from the award-winning series
Can be read as a standalone

Felicity is on route to Beau to marry the duke.
However, when she arrives, Alistair, the price and heir to the throne, catches her eye. His late night disappearances and roguish attitude send Felicity down a mysterious and strange path.
When her best friend, the beautiful Anne comes to town, everything takes a strange turn.
Felicity must decide between love or power – before it’s too late.

The beggar who cursed the beast had a bigger story than anyone could have imagined.

The beggar who cursed the beast had a bigger story than anyone could have imagined.
I am torn between 3 and 4 stars with this book. It is a really short novella, a prequel to Weeks retelling of Beauty & Beast.
Felicity heads to Beau to wed to the Duke, but when she arrives it is apparent that the Duke is not what she intended and has some sinister ways to “teaching” her the proper way to be a Duchess. She finds solace in the castle walls in the form of the Prince who she see’s leaving each night, she soon develops feeling for him after spending some time with him, but when her friend Anne arrives at the Castle the Prince is quickly captivated with her and Felicity becomes all but forgotten to him.
The fact that she wed to the Duke doesn’t stop her jealousy towards her friend, and soon she must make a choice love or power.
The thing I hated most about this book is that it skipped forward way to fast for my liking – I know its a novella but I feel it could have gone bit more smoothly, there seemed to be a lot of unanswered questions which I hope to get more in depth in the full length book.
For all it is a prequel I still feel a little lost about the “beggar”, and really think there could have been more focus on the Amulet  or more detail about it – after all it plays a huge part in the story
