Bookish Blog Hop – Do you review all of the books you read?

I am taking part in my first ever Bookish Blog Hope with my fellow book bloggers over at the Bookish Blog Hops FB group.

Today’s question is:
“Do you review all the books you read?”

For me I try to review everything I read, I definitely review any ARC book and audio books I receive. I utilise Goodreads a ton, to keep track of what I have read and what books I need to leave a review on, as I tend to jump from book to book I leave a star rating when I finish with a note “full review coming soon”. And when I get a moment I go back and fill in my review.

I think reviews are important to authors and other readers for that matter.

Now lets see what the others have to say:

I don’t always review all the books I read but I do review most of them. A lot of the books I read I get sent for the purpose of reviewing them so those are must reviews.
If reading purely for pleasure, in most cases I’ll review the book. In the rare cases when I don’t honestly feel I can give at least a 3 star rating to the book, I’ll opt to not review it.

I wish I did. I really want to. But unfortunately, most of the times I jump from novel to novel without finding time to write a review and just end up giving star ratings without actually putting in words. As a fellow writer, it is despicable and I do try to write a few words whenever possible.

No. When I started my book blog, I reviewed everything. But over time, I just couldn’t keep up. I listen to 3-4 audiobooks per week. So, on my blog, I now only review the ones I want to recommend. But of course I review every ARC.

As far as verbal reviews go, I generally only review the indie books I read. There was a time when I was writing a short review for every book I read, and I have to say, Goodreads makes it really easy to jot down a quick review, once you’ve finished a book.
Nowadays, it’s just the indie books, because those reviews are featured on my blog (Under “Reader’s Reviews”) so when I write those, I usually copy/paste onto Amazon and Goodreads.

I want to get better about this. I don’t review all on my webpage. I DO review them on Amazon because I understand that is the most important. I also copy all reviews to Goodreads.

Great answers ladies! Be sure to check tomorrows stop over at Views She Writes https://viewsshewrites.wordpress.com where we will be answering the question “What authors do you always read and recommend?”

Great answers everyone. I know authors really appreciate it when they get book reviews… where ever they get posted. I love how each book blogger has their own unique style for their reviews.

Such wonderful answers. Now I am feeling guilty of not reviewing every book. But yes, I do agree that reviews are very important to the readers who are looking for the next read and especially to the authors who are looking for validation of their work.

I don’t because I enjoy reading so much that I start another book before writing a review for the previous one. But, I’m really trying to review them all because my blog is new and I need to get more reviews up.

I definitely don’t review every book I read! I am trying to get better at as least reviewing on Amazon or Goodreads, but even that needs work!!

Excellent answers all. I am glad I am not the only one who is remiss. However, as the Amazon algorithm expert from Promo Day (kidding, not an expert) please make sure that you review or at least give stars to books you read on Amazon. It is HIGHLY important for Indie authors sales and marketing!
