REVIEW

Firstly I had no idea this was book 25 in the Libby Sarjeant series, so that is telling in how easy this was as a stand alone read without reading the previous books. Libby has her old theatre director Constance Matthews coming to view her original production of Much Ado About Nothing, only Constance isn’t happy with the show and makes it known on social media and throughout the hamlet of Steeple Martin. After the show Libby and Constance part ways on air of contention, and Libby hears that Constance has check out of the pub without so much as a goodbye. Putting it behind her whilst she does damage control following Constance’s review, Libby gets a call from the police to come identify the body of said Constance.

This book has a whole host of characters, I am thankful for the character list at the beginning of the book! And like I said this book 25 in the series, there are some references to previous book that don’t hinder this story but if any makes me want to go back and read them all. There were several suspects on my list, and I loved how I was on the same page as Libby in her quest to find out who done it, but when it was all revealed I was surprised!

I loved this book and love that I have discovered a new series to read!

Author Bio –

Lesley Cookman is a former actor, model and journalist. She lives on the Kent coast in south east England with her two cats and the occasional returning offspring. In her past, she has been Editor of such diverse publications as The Call Boy – official magazine of the British Music Hall Society – and Poultry Farmer’s Weekly. She has written for the stage, and her pantomimes were at one time performed all over the country – she even wrote a book on how to do it. She writes the Libby Sarjeant Mystery series, of which there are currently 24 and three novellas and The Alexandrians, an Edwardian mystery series about a seaside concert party. She has four children, all musicians (one also a writer) and two grandchilden.
