[Review Tour] Mistletoe at Moonglow by Deborah Garner

The Timberton Hotel has always provided a perfect Christmas retreat for regular guests, as well as newcomers. But the small town of Timberton, Montana, hasn’t been the same since resident chef and artist, Mist, arrived, bringing a unique new age flavor to the old western town.
When guests check in for the holidays, they bring along worries, fears and broken hearts, unaware that Mist has a way of working magic in people’s lives. Old-fashioned time spent together, exquisite food, conversation and a snowball or two offer guests a chance to trade sadness for hope. One thing is certain: no matter how cold winter’s grip is on each guest, no one leaves Timberton without a warmer heart.

Mistletoe at Moonglow is my first foray into Deborah Garner books and this is short novella, one thing that struck me that about it is that it didn’t seem to have any particular plot line at all but yet it was still engaging enough to keep you reading.
I felt there was very little back story of any of the characters to give me a feel for what has happened, especially to Mist, prior to ending up at the Timberton hotel.
The guest who all arrived to spend Christmas at the hotel all have an air of sadness around them, but Mist seems to be able to just know what to do to make everything all right for them. There is heartache for most of them but Mist – according one guest who is a child, is magical at bringing them all together and just knowing the right thing to do.
The descriptions make this seem a great place to spend Christmas alone or with family, and I loved the little collection of recipes at the end of the book , as boy does Mist cook soon lovely meals.
Its a strange little book but overall this is a heartwarming little Christmas novella, just missing a little backstory and more character development. I really want to know about Mist – but not sure what book would be best to get it or it is still to come?

Silver Bells at Moonglow

Christmas at the Timberton Hotel arrives each year with a unique set of guests, some returning, some new. Add in a hint of romance and there’s more than snow in the air around the small Montana town.
Elegant decor and exquisite cuisine from resident artist and chef, Mist, form a backdrop to much needed camaraderie, bringing strangers and friends together.
