This book was a short enjoyable read, but I had a hard time connecting with the story the dialogue albeit descriptive was almost boring in the way it was written – some points read like a bit bit account of what they were doing – we said goodbye then opened the door then walked down the path kinda thing.
That was my only bug bear. Other than that the story has a good premise to it, the four girls have broke up school for the summer and are planning a sleepover at Alycia house. Whilst shopping with her mum at the goodwill store Alycia finds a Quija board game and convinces her friends to get it amongst some other games, to play during the sleepover.
They soon discover that some games are best left unplayed when they connect with a spirit who is not of the friendly variety. And when strange things start to happen they seek the help of a Medium.
The ending leads to more in the story and I can only imagine that the next book is going to step up the horror with the spirit.
