Author Interview
Name / Pen name & little about yourself:
My pen name is Bernadette Marie. I am the mother of 5 teenage sons, and the owner/CEO of a publishing company and two other companies. I am also a blogger. My blog is ThisHouseofBoys.com
When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
In junior high school I decided I wanted to write books that were made into mini-series because I was obsessed with mini-series movies.
What genre are your books? and what made you write in that genre?
The Tea Shop is a paranormal romance. I love paranormal, so it was just the next genre that I wanted to try.
When did you write your first book and how old were you?
I started my first book when I was 13.
Where do you get your ideas for your books?
My ideas come from everywhere. There is not lack of inspiration for me at all. I can write about anything.
How long does it typically take you to write a book?
I can write a book in less than 2 months.
How many books have you written? Which is your favourite?
I have written 33 novels.
Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? How do you overcome it?
I am very blessed! I never have writer’s block. If I’m working on something and get stumped I work on another book. I usually write two or three at a time.
Have you done any collaborations with other writers?
No.
What do you think of reviews?
I think reviews are fine. But I don’t obsess about them. Sometimes I don’t read them. I think they are for the reader/consumer not for me. Most authors get all worked up about them. I chose to keep writing.
