This is such a great story for children and the colourful illustrations make this an enjoyable read both kids and adults alike. Alycat’s brother Bugsy has golf tournament and wants to use his ‘lucky ball’ to win, but when he forgets to take it to the tournament Alycat goes to get it but picks up the wrong ball, she tries to fix it by colouring a star on the ball with a marker, and unbeknown to Bugsy he plays his round and does in fact win! Only afterwards does he discover the truth about his lucky ball and that in fact its all about learning and practice and not luck.

At the end of the book there is a glossary of golf terms and the illustrations really draw your attention and tells the story right along with the words, making this a great read for kids to read together with an adult or on their own.

Alysson Foti Bourque is the author of the award-winning Alycat series.
Alysson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a Juris Doctor degree from the Southern University Law Center.

After practicing law for six years, she traded in writing trial briefs for writing children’s books. Alysson enjoys public speaking opportunities at schools, conferences, and festivals nationwide. She hopes to inspire people of all ages to follow their dreams and believe in themselves wholeheartedly.
