Candy Canes and Buckets of Blood
(Sprite Brigade Book 1)
by Heide Good & Iain Grant
Publisher: Pigeon Park Press
Blurb
Christmas is a time for families to come together.
Guin Roberts can’t think of anything worse than visiting a Christmas market with her new family. Guin is perfectly happy with own company and doesn’t want that disrupted by her wisecracking stepbrother and his earnest mum.
Their Christmas celebrations are invaded by a sleigh full of murderous elves. And it doesn’t matter if they’ve been naughty or nice — these elves are out for blood.
Can the family band together to survive the night? Or will Santa’s little helpers make mincemeat of them all?

REVIEW
Candy Canes and Buckets of Blood is not your usual Christmas story , if you couldn’t guess from the title – think of it more as a nightmare before Christmas but with murderous elves!! This is dark comedy that appealed to my sense of humour, with funny one liners and the overall general sense of humour amongst the chaos that ensues from these murderous little elves. A lot happens to this blended family in one night and honestly I couldn’t stop reading. They couldn’t quite believe that elves are real, or the fact that they are also on a killing spree. When the elves attack the family gets split up, and it soon becomes and fight for survival.
This was a bizarre book to say the least, full of humour, blood and violence – a great alternative Christmas book that is for sure, and I can wait to read more from Heide and Iain.
