My Review

This is the second book by Kim Cano I have read and after reading the synopsis I could not wait to see how this story was going to play out.

Phillip is a closet gay man who hides his life from his co-workers in order to succeed within the company. Once he gets a promotion he has been after, he realises that he needs a “girlfriend” to accompany him to functions etc. Enter Emily, she is roommates with Phillip’s sister and accepts to play the role of his girlfriend to a company dinner. They are both doing it out of necessity but neither thought that they would fall for each other.

I loved Emily and thought the way Phillip treated her sometimes was a bit shocking, all in the name of protecting his image at work. But once he is discovered kissing his boyfriend by his boss’s wife no less it all goes pear shape for him. By this time Emily realises she is in love with a gay man and Phillip discovers that he is willing to be with a woman.

Could Emily be the proverbial woman to turn a gay man straight?

I loved how Kim delivered this story and how we got the inner turmoil from both Phillip and Emily, but the ending = oh .,… tut tut…I kinda leaves you hanging not in a cliffhanger way but in such a way that you would just love to know just how the rest of their life turns out…
