JUSTIFIED
by Carolyn Arnold
Series: Detective Madison Knight series, Book 2
Published by: Hibbert & Stiles Publishing Inc.

Blurb:

One murdered entrepreneur, and everyone’s a suspect.

Detective Madison Knight should have ignored her phone when it rang on Christmas Eve. Now she is spending the holiday dealing with her least favorite thing: a bloody murder scene.

The victim, Claire Reeves, was a successful entrepreneur and had it all—sex appeal, intelligence, and money—but it seems that one of those things may have caught up with her. Now, Madison and her partner are digging through the victim’s personal life, but the more they dig, the more people they find who had motive to kill her. It’s certainly a case of too many suspects, too little time, but Madison is determined to find Claire’s killer and make sure justice is served.

REVIEW

For Madison murder doesn’t take a day off and when she takes a call on Christmas Eve she knows she is going to spending the holidays knee deep in an murder investigation.

Madison discovers that the victim Claire Reeves, had upset quit a lot of people with her business tactics and that just made the suspect pool ten times bigger for her and Terry her partner to narrow down the killer. I enjoyed this book and the plot held my attention, I loved watching the case unfold as Terry and Madison pieced it all together to catch the killer.

I did however take quite a bit of umbridge to how Madison handled her new dog Hersey – a gift from Terry for Christmas. She left it for hours and hour and then complained when she got home to find he had do the toilet in his crate…. not the kind of person I thought Maddy would have been like with a pet… I hope this changes over the next few books.

FOUND INNOCENT
by Carolyn Arnold
Series: Detective Madison Knight series, Book 4
Published by: Hibbert & Stiles Publishing Inc.

Blurb

She wanted to leave her past behind, but it may have followed her…

A young woman’s remains are found in a shallow grave, and as Detective Madison Knight and her partner follow the clues, they find a connection between her murder and a death ruled as a suicide. It puts Madison in a difficult situation—she suspects the first victim was killed as well. In order to unearth the truth, she may need to cross the line most cops wouldn’t dare and report a fellow officer for mishandling a case.

Doing so only becomes more complicated when that officer turns out to be Madison’s ex-fiancé, and he has more on his mind than a mark on his record. He wants Madison back. But all she wants is justice for the victims. And if that means jeopardizing departmental relationships and churning up the attention of an old flame, so be it—because if she doesn’t, the guilty may be found innocent.

REVIEW

Madison and Terry are back and I enjoyed how there partnership is progressing and we are learning more about their characters along side them.

This one had a lot of twists and turns and action that will keep you on your toes as Madison discovers the current suicide case she is working is eerily similar to a cold case.

I have to admit I love going back to the early books on the series as I started the Knight series at book 8, so watching Madison and Terry grown and progress as characters is always a good thing,
