Paige and her joyful Aunt Glo have learned that the home they inherited comes with a magical library. They put together a book club group of loveable kooks to explore the magic.

They’ve recovered from their first book journey, and they all agree on their next book which takes place on a cruise ship bound for Hawaii. Problem is, they were so excited about the cruising idea that they didn’t read the entire blurb on the back of the book. (“It was entirely too long,” explains Zell.) Once on the ship, they meet a charming and likable man who blends seamlessly into their motley group. Too bad they don’t know why he’s so scarce during the day but shows up to join them every evening for dinner, drinks, and a show. When a dead body shows up on board, their new friend is labeled a suspect. Can they help him out by finding the real murderer? Or is he the real murderer? The book club will need to solve the case to get off the ship, out of the book, and back to their home.

REVIEW

I was gutted my schedule didn’t allow me to review of the first book in this series but I just knew I had to make book two work, and boy am I glad I did! This is definitely a book club I would love to be a part of. When Paige and her Aunt Glo discover that the home they inherited comes with a magical library they put together a book club group of loveable kooks to explore the magic with. They decide on a book, then start to read and let the magic happen – transporting the group straight into the book. They love to do cozy mysteries so you just know there is going to be a murder involved somewhere along the way,

This time they were too excited at the idea of cruising around Hawaii that they didn’t in fact read all the book blurb –“Ah. The blurb is too long. I’m sure this will do!.” – and before they know it the group has been transported to the cruise ship! Whilst they are enjoying the sights and sounds the ship has to offer, the begin to realise that their new friend Vincent is not of this world and turn out they have ended up on a paranormal cozy mystery!

So here we have a very eclectic book group, a talking cat as well as some vampires thrown into the mix, then there is the discover of a body that sees them all come together to try and find the killer and protect a friend from having the finger being pointed at.

I absolutely loved the premise of this book – the whole idea of actually entering the book you are reading is just brilliant – its like getting two books in one really! The characters are so quirky and funny that I instantly felt like I have know them all my life. Brilliant series, brilliant characters and I can’t wait to see what adventure the book club goes on next time!
